Following the violent clashes and police actions related to the ‘I Love Muhammad’ campaign, Congress MP Imran Masood addressed the situation, emphasizing that mosques are intended for prayer and not for inciting violence. He made his remarks while speaking to the press in Saharanpur. Masood urged Muslims to demonstrate their love for Muhammad by adhering to his teachings, rather than resorting to street protests. This comes after Maulana Tauqeer Raza’s call for a gathering at Islamia Ground to submit a memorandum to the President against the crackdown on the ‘I Love Muhammad’ campaign, where police intervention led to violent confrontations. Masood, commenting on the Friday prayers and the subsequent gathering at Islamia Ground, stated that true love for Muhammad lies in following his principles and ideals rather than causing disturbances.
