Following reports of the demolition of Satyajit Ray’s ancestral home in Mymensingh, Bangladesh, the Indian government has expressed its regret. The Ministry of External Affairs has announced India’s readiness to assist the Bangladesh government in restoring the property. The ministry described the property as a cultural landmark, currently in disrepair, that holds significant value. India is proposing its repair and reconstruction, potentially as a museum, to preserve the shared cultural heritage between India and Bangladesh. Satyajit Ray, a multifaceted artist, is known for his iconic films, books, and contributions to various creative fields.
