India’s Jaishankar: Terrorism, Strategic Autonomy, and Global Role

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, speaking to Le Figaro, addressed a range of topics, including India’s foreign policy priorities. He reinforced India’s call for a resolution to the Ukraine war and emphasized the necessity of global solidarity, particularly with the Global South. He clarified India’s firm stance against terrorism and its commitment to strategic autonomy. Jaishankar highlighted the strong partnership between India and France, mentioning collaborations in various sectors. He reiterated that the Kashmir issue is a result of terrorism. Jaishankar warned that India would retaliate against terrorist attacks, even if it meant pursuing them in Pakistan. He commented on China’s role, India-US relations, and the ongoing Ukraine conflict.
