Pradeep Bhandari, a spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has accused the Congress party of misrepresenting India’s abstention from the UNGA vote on a Gaza ceasefire. Bhandari advised the Congress to read India’s official explanation of its vote, which emphasized its condemnation of civilian deaths, support for humanitarian aid, and backing for a two-state solution. He stated that the abstention was not a deviation from India’s past voting patterns but a continuation, rooted in the belief in diplomacy. Bhandari’s remarks came in response to criticism from Congress leader Pawan Khera, who criticized India’s stance on the issue.
