BSNL has rolled out its indigenous 4G network, utilizing a fully software-based, cloud-based infrastructure that can be upgraded to 5G. The project involves the deployment of approximately 98,000 mobile 4G towers nationwide. This network is designed to provide comprehensive coverage across India, ensuring no area is left unconnected. The initiative is a step towards ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat,’ positioning India among the top telecom equipment manufacturers globally. The RAN was developed by Tejas Networks, the core network by C-DOT, and TCS integrated the system. This 4G infrastructure aims to empower Indians across various geographical locations and backgrounds.
