The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Mohan Yadav, has requested a CBI probe into the disappearance of an Indore couple, Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam, who were reported missing in Meghalaya last month. Raja’s body was later recovered, but Sonam is still missing. CM Yadav has appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah to order the CBI inquiry. He shared on social media that he has consulted with the Meghalaya Chief Minister and that Madhya Pradesh police are collaborating with Meghalaya authorities. The family has also written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, seeking a CBI investigation. Raja and Sonam were last seen on May 23 during their honeymoon in the northeastern state. Raja’s remains were found in a gorge near Cherrapunji, and Sonam’s whereabouts remain unknown. Vipul Raghuvanshi, Raja’s brother, has expressed the family’s desire for a CBI investigation to bring justice and aid in finding Sonam. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has expressed his sympathies and vowed to pursue those responsible.
