INS Vikrant Hosts PM Modi for Diwali, Recounts ‘Operation Sindoor’ Triumph

Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his tradition of celebrating Diwali with the Indian armed forces by spending the festival aboard the state-of-the-art aircraft carrier INS Vikrant. Off the coast of Goa and Karwar, he shared the festive occasion with naval personnel, calling it a ‘memorable’ experience. Addressing the sailors, PM Modi lauded INS Vikrant as a testament to India’s self-reliance and power. He recalled the historic ‘Operation Sindoor,’ emphasizing how the Indian military’s unified efforts swiftly led to Pakistan’s capitulation. The Prime Minister lauded the ‘extraordinary coordination’ among the three services, which he deemed pivotal in achieving victory. INS Vikrant, he stated, is a powerful symbol of India’s ‘hard work, talent, impact and commitment.’ PM Modi expressed his deep appreciation for the soldiers’ morale and patriotic fervor, particularly how they articulated the significance of Operation Sindoor through their songs. He noted the formidable reputation of INS Vikrant, asserting that its name alone can demoralize the enemy. The Prime Minister also highlighted the BrahMos missile’s crucial role in Operation Sindoor and its growing international recognition, aligning with India’s goal to become a major defense exporter. Furthermore, he discussed the nation’s success in curbing Maoist violence, stating that it’s now confined to a few districts and expressing certainty in its complete eradication.
