Kartavya Bhavan, part of the Central Vista project, is the first of several office complexes designed to modernize and streamline government operations. The project aims to replace older, dispersed offices with a modern, user-friendly, and environmentally sustainable space. Previously, many ministries operated from buildings like Shastri Bhavan, Krishi Bhavan, and Udyog Bhavan, constructed between the 1950s and 1970s. These buildings have become outdated, incurring significant maintenance costs. Kartavya Bhavan-3 is intended to reduce repair costs and improve the facilities available to employees, thereby enhancing the quality of government services. The building spans approximately 1.5 lakh square meters and features two basements and seven floors.
