Operation Sindhu facilitated the return of Kashmiri students from Iran, with the initial batch arriving on Thursday. The evacuation effort brought back a total of 110 Indian students. However, the homecoming was marred by complaints about the travel arrangements from Delhi to Srinagar. Students, including Saba Rasool, cited issues with the SRTC buses, including broken seats and unclean interiors. The Ministry of External Affairs and the Prime Minister’s Office were lauded for their role in the safe return. The Jammu and Kashmir Student Union brought attention to the state government’s inadequate arrangements, contrasting them with the central government’s successful handling of the crisis. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah addressed the criticism by apologizing and promising improved transportation.
