Scandal has erupted following a viral video from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Jail, showcasing an inmate, allegedly an ISIS terrorist and rapist, openly using a mobile phone and watching television. The circulating clip has sparked widespread debate about the security protocols and living conditions within the jail, with many criticizing the apparent ‘five-star treatment’ afforded to the prisoner.
The inmate has been identified as Zuhab Hameed Shakeel Manna, who is in jail for allegedly raising funds for the ISIS terror network. The video depicts him using a smartphone, raising serious questions about how such contraband is accessed within a high-security facility.
Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara addressed the controversy, confirming that the government has suspended officials implicated in the incident and initiated corrective actions. He assured the public that this matter is being taken very seriously and that a comprehensive inquiry has been ordered under the supervision of a senior official. The minister reiterated the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards such breaches of security and discipline within correctional facilities.
