S. Jaishankar, the External Affairs Minister, is set to visit France and Belgium this week, from June 8th to 14th, to reinforce bilateral relations and address crucial strategic issues. Key meetings include discussions with his French and Belgian counterparts, as well as a strategic dialogue with the EU’s Kaja Kallas. This visit is intended to underscore India’s commitment to combating terrorism and to brief interlocutors on recent counter-terrorism efforts. In France, Jaishankar will engage in discussions with French Foreign Minister Jean Noel Barrot, participate in the Mediterranean Raisina Dialogue in Marseille, and meet with think tanks. The discussions also aim to mark the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership between India and France. In Brussels, the agenda includes a first ministerial strategic dialogue with Kaja Kallas, interactions with the European Commission and Parliament, and meetings with think tanks. The visit is anticipated to enhance cooperation across various sectors.
