Following a major landslide on the Yamunotri Yatra route in Jankichatti, rescue operations are in progress. The SDRF, NDRF, District Police, and other relevant agencies are collaborating on search and rescue missions. SDRF Commander Arpan Yaduvanshi is leading the efforts, which include aerial assessments of the impacted zone utilizing drone technology. Live drone footage is being used to locate any areas that require further investigation, according to an official statement. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami conveyed his condolences concerning the landslide and assured that the State Defence Response Force, police, forest department, and medical teams are delivering aid. The incident occurred at Nau Kachi, near Bhairav temple, about 3 km ahead of Janaki Chatti on the Yamunotri Dham Yatra route. The Chief Minister has appealed for the well-being of those impacted, and one injured individual has been evacuated and provided with medical care at PHC Jankichatti.
