A devastating bus accident in Deoghar, Jharkhand, claimed the lives of five Kanwariyas and injured several others. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when a bus carrying devotees collided with a truck in the Mohanpur area. The bus was carrying pilgrims who had visited the Baba Baidyanath Dham and were on their way to Basukinath Temple. The collision with a truck carrying LPG cylinders was so intense that five people died instantly. The driver is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel, contributing to the crash. Local authorities and the police responded quickly to provide aid and rescue the injured. Jharkhand’s Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed sorrow over the tragedy, as did Lok Sabha MP Nishikant Dubey who, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), mentioned a higher death toll. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for medical care. The impact of the crash was so violent that the bus was completely wrecked.
