A disturbing wave of crime continues to impact the Hazaribagh region, with a recent incident highlighting the audacious nature of criminal elements. Late Friday night, a prominent cement businessman in Barkattha found his home and business premises raided by masked intruders. Sunil Kumar Pandey, proprietor of Suryakund Traders, and his son were allegedly held at gunpoint and subjected to violence. Reports suggest the attackers first entered the shop, where they allegedly bound Mr. Pandey and inflicted injuries. His son was also reportedly harmed during the ordeal. The assailants then moved to the adjacent residence, making off with an estimated six lakh rupees in cash and a significant quantity of gold and silver ornaments. Upon receiving information about the robbery, senior police officers, including the Subdivisional Police Officer of Barhi and the local station house officer, swiftly reached the location. The victims were transported to Barkattha Community Health Centre for treatment. Authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation, focusing on gathering evidence and analyzing surveillance footage from the vicinity to track down the perpetrators. The police are committed to apprehending the criminals responsible for this act of violence and theft.
