In a recent meeting, Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari stressed the need for the Bokaro Steel Plant (BSP) to resolve various issues through coordination and transparent dialogue, while also considering the sentiments of the local population. The meeting, attended by SAIL’s Chairman and team, along with relevant department secretaries and the Bokaro district administration, focused on issues concerning Bokaro Steel City. Tiwari noted the ongoing developmental work at SAIL under the Steel Policy. She stated it was crucial to ensure that the local residents do not feel excluded and to understand their feelings and approach the situation with a humanistic perspective. She also urged SAIL to prioritize employment opportunities for those trained in various trades. Discussions also included the restructuring of nine panchayats and the issue of unused forest land. The Chief Secretary also directed officials to work towards bringing Bokaro Steel City into the top ten cities.
