A meeting was held at the Collectorate, chaired by Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, to discuss and direct preparations for various upcoming events. A major focus was the marathon on June 26th, part of the Drug-Free India campaign. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of completing all arrangements to ensure the marathon’s success in promoting awareness against substance abuse. Discussions covered promotional strategies using various media, securing the route, managing security, and the deployment of volunteers, with special attention given to including students. Moreover, the meeting reviewed the preparations for the Rat Road Flyover inauguration, the Jagannath Rath Yatra, and the Eastern Regional Council meeting scheduled on July 10th. The Deputy Commissioner also gave instructions concerning the Sawan festival preparations, and assessment of the damage due to heavy rainfall in the district along with the implementation of various schemes.
