A statewide special awareness campaign against illicit substances, spearheaded by the state government, has commenced in East Singhbhum district. The campaign aims to spread the message of freedom from drug addiction. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, launched the initiative by flagging off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate. The chariot will tour different blocks within the district, raising awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse. Officials and employees at the Collectorate took an oath against drug use, led by the Deputy Commissioner. The initiative highlights that addiction impacts personal health, future prospects, family dynamics, and societal well-being. The administration encourages public participation to achieve a drug-free community. The special campaign, which will run from June 10 to June 26, 2025, will incorporate diverse awareness programs focused on educating the public about the harmful effects of drug addiction.
