A statewide special awareness campaign against prohibited narcotics has commenced in East Singhbhum district, as per the state government’s initiative. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, inaugurated the campaign by sending off an awareness chariot from the Collectorate. The Deputy Commissioner also led an oath-taking ceremony for officials and staff at the Collectorate, emphasizing the wide-ranging damage caused by addiction to an individual’s health, future, family, and society, leading to both psychological and physical ailments. He called upon all members of the community to contribute to the creation of a drug-free society through participation in the campaign. The public is encouraged to actively participate and spread awareness among their acquaintances about the perils of substance abuse. The district administration will use this campaign to circulate the message of liberation from addiction across the district, with the goal of motivating individuals to avoid its harmful effects. The campaign will continue from June 10 to June 26, 2025, featuring numerous awareness programs aimed at educating the public about the ramifications of substance abuse.
