A special statewide awareness campaign against prohibited substances has been launched in the East Singhbhum district by the state government. The initiative kicked off with the launch of an awareness chariot at the Collectorate. The Deputy Commissioner, Karn Satyarthi, inaugurated the chariot, designed to disseminate the message of de-addiction across the district. This chariot will tour various blocks in the district, raising awareness about the detrimental impacts of drug abuse. During the event, the Deputy Commissioner also led an anti-addiction pledge for all the officials and staff present at the Collectorate. He highlighted that addiction harms an individual’s health, as well as their future, family, and the wider community, causing mental and physical health issues. The Deputy Commissioner called on all segments of society to get involved in the campaign to establish an addiction-free society. He encouraged the public to participate actively and educate those around them about the dangers of drug use. The campaign, running from June 10th to June 26th, 2025, will feature several awareness programs aimed at educating people about the negative effects of substance abuse.
