Ramesh Singh, a BJP leader and established builder in Ranchi, is facing threats and extortion demands from criminal elements. The Rahul Singh gang contacted Singh via WhatsApp, issuing a threat and demanding money. The gang specifically referenced Singh’s financial success, implying they were monitoring his activities. Singh was warned of dire consequences if he failed to pay. Prior to this incident, Singh had also been threatened by Naxal elements linked to the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI) on September 1, 2025, highlighting a pattern of intimidation. A complaint was filed with the Sukhdev Nagar police station regarding the previous threat, but the investigation was still ongoing when the new threat emerged. Singh, who resides in the Ratu Road area and is known for his social and religious engagements, had recently organized an elaborate Durga Puja, further attracting attention. The current threat was delivered during the Durga Puja celebrations, and the police have launched an investigation to address the situation.
