A shocking case of fraud has emerged in Khunti, Jharkhand, where laborers were paid with counterfeit ‘Amusement Bank’ notes for their work. The workers were hired to dig pits for a plantation project in the village of Erermere. Forest guard Rahul Mahto provided a bundle of fake 200-rupee notes to the village head, who was supposed to distribute them. Upon discovering the fraud, the villagers demanded immediate action against the forest guard. The forest division has promised an investigation to uncover how the fake currency was obtained and distributed.
