The political landscape of the Ghatshila by-election in East Singhbhum has witnessed a major shift with the Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) throwing its weight behind the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). Party national president Chandrashekhar Azad mandated the state leadership, headed by Jharkhand President Kashif Raza, to extend official support to JMM candidate Somesh Chandra Soren. Raza highlighted that the decision stems from a commitment to public interest, social justice, and equality. He called upon the party cadre statewide to mobilize for Soren’s decisive win. Expressing his appreciation, JMM nominee Soren acknowledged the support on social media, emphasizing it as a crucial step for advancing Jharkhand’s progress and safeguarding its people’s rights. Political observers believe this coalition could prove strategically advantageous for the JMM, particularly among a segment of the electorate focused on social equity.
