A devastating event unfolded in Giridih during a Muharram procession, leading to a loss of life and injuries. The accident involved the electrocution of participants when a steel ‘tazia’ came into contact with a live 11,000-volt wire. The incident occurred in Chokosinha, under the jurisdiction of Ghordhamba OP. One person was declared dead at the scene, while two others are in critical condition. A number of individuals suffered minor injuries as well and are currently receiving medical care. The joyous atmosphere of the Muharram celebrations was abruptly replaced by grief following this unfortunate event.
