In Govindpur village, located in the Jari block of the Chainpur subdivision, residents are protesting the ongoing power outage that has persisted for three months. The villagers explained that the village’s transformer was damaged by lightning, which occurred three months prior. Since then, the village has been without electricity. The villagers have expressed their frustration, highlighting that the electricity department has not taken action to replace or repair the transformer despite numerous complaints.
The absence of power has cast a pall of darkness over the village, particularly affecting children who must study using candles or lamps after sunset. Additionally, the villagers are concerned about the increasing threat of snakes and scorpions during the rainy season. The residents believe that the lack of action from the authorities indicates the district administration’s apathy. They are demanding that the department promptly install a new transformer or fix the existing one to reinstate the electricity supply. Among those present were Akbar Khan, Mobarak Ansari, Zahid Ansari, Pratap Minj, Laxman Malar, Manuwar Khan, and Belal Ansari, who voiced their concerns and demands for immediate action from the concerned authorities.
