The tradition of celebrating Kali Puja here dates back to 1967, initiated by the late Gangadhar Samanta, a respected mica magnate and philanthropist. This year’s puja featured traditional rites and a powerful ‘havan’, drawing a substantial congregation of worshippers. Many women joined in the prayers, adding to the vibrant community spirit. The temple’s timeless architecture provided a majestic backdrop for the ceremonies. The successful event was attended by many prominent citizens, including members of the Samanta family and local business personalities, underscoring the community’s deep-rooted faith.
