On Sunday, Chief Minister Hemant Soren immersed the ashes of his father, the late Shibu Soren, also known as Dishom Guru, in the Damodar River at Rajarappa. The ceremony followed the completion of the shraddha rituals. The Chief Minister, accompanied by family members, arrived at the Rajarappa temple to perform the final rites. The immersion was conducted according to traditional Santhali practices, reflecting the family’s deep respect for the departed leader. Basant Soren, brother of the Chief Minister, and other relatives were also present. The event marked the end of the 12-day shraddha period, with the family traveling to Rajarappa from their ancestral village, Nemra. The immersion took place with solemnity and respect, followed by the observance of other religious customs.
