On Sunday, the ashes of the late Dishom Guru Shibu Soren were immersed in the Damodar River in Rajarappa after the completion of the mourning rituals. Chief Minister Hemant Soren, along with his relatives, attended the ceremony at the Rajarappa temple. He performed the immersion of the ashes of his father, Shibu Soren, who played a pivotal role in the creation of Jharkhand. The rituals were conducted following the traditional Santhali practices. Basant Soren, the Chief Minister’s younger brother, along with his son and other family members, were also present. After twelve days of mourning, the Chief Minister traveled to Rajarappa from his ancestral village. The immersion of the ashes was performed with deep respect and solemnity by the Damodar River. Subsequently, the family observed other religious customs.
