The 35th meeting of the Jharkhand State Sentence Review Board, presided over by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, resulted in the approval to release 51 prisoners. The meeting reviewed cases of inmates serving life sentences across the state. The meeting addressed 37 new cases and reconsidered 66 cases previously rejected by the board. Senior officials, including the Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, the Principal Secretary of the Home, Jail, and Disaster Management Department, and the DGP, were present.
