At the Eastern Zonal Council’s 27th meeting, Chief Minister Hemant Soren emphasized the crucial role of central government cooperation in Jharkhand’s overall development. He put forth several demands, including the swift recovery of outstanding royalty payments from coal companies amounting to Rs 1.40 lakh crore. He also advocated for the ‘Maiyaan Samman Yojana,’ which aims to provide monthly financial support to women, the establishment of a Tribal University, and the fast-tracking of the Ranchi Metro project, among others. Further requests were made for assistance in promoting tourism, rural development, and strengthening the MSME sector.
