In a gruesome act of violence in Gumla, Jharkhand, a man named Baliram Khadia is accused of murdering a woman and injuring three villagers. The incident unfolded in Kamaltoli village when Khadia requested water at Anil Khadia’s residence. Upon Reena Devi, Anil’s wife, going inside to get water, Khadia attacked her with a ‘tangi’ (axe-like weapon), causing her death. Subsequently, he attacked two other women and a child. As villagers attempted to apprehend him, Khadia jumped into a well. Police arrived at the scene, rescued him from the well, and made an arrest. Authorities are exploring all angles, including the suspect’s mental state and possible influences of superstition.
