In a gruesome event in Gumla, Jharkhand, a man named Baliram Khadia is accused of a violent rampage that resulted in the death of a woman and injuries to three others. Khadia approached the home of Anil Khadia in Kamaltoli village, requesting water. Upon Reena Devi, Anil’s wife, going to get him water, he attacked her with a ‘tangi,’ leading to her death. The assailant then proceeded to attack two more women, Chandramani Devi and another individual, along with a young child. Attempting to escape the villagers, he jumped into a well, but was apprehended by the police and arrested. The police are considering the possibility of mental instability of the accused, and local rumors suggest superstition as a potential factor. The police investigation is ongoing.
