A BJP MLA from Jharkhand, Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta, voiced his frustration over the lack of a room at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi. He had previously booked and confirmed two rooms but was allocated only one. Unsatisfied with the information provided regarding room allocation, he staged a protest at the reception, having his breakfast on the floor. The MLA criticized the management of the Jharkhand Bhawan, a modern facility built at considerable expense, questioning its accessibility for Jharkhand’s elected officials. He appealed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren to address the issues and ensure proper accommodation for MLAs. The Jharkhand Bhawan, a seven-story building in Delhi’s Connaught Place, was completed in 2024 and includes numerous guest rooms, suites, and VIP accommodations, costing over 100 crore rupees. It features 45 guest rooms, 18 suites and 2 VVIP suites.
