A BJP legislator from Jharkhand, Dr. Kushwaha Shashibhushan Mehta, faced a room booking issue at the Jharkhand Bhawan in Delhi. Despite his prior confirmation of two room bookings, the authorities at the reception told him only one room was reserved in his name. The MLA, seeking an explanation, inquired if any other Jharkhand ministers or MLAs were staying at the Bhawan, but was not provided with adequate information. Frustrated by the situation, he sat on the floor at the reception and had his breakfast as a form of protest. He questioned the utility of the multi-crore Jharkhand Bhawan and appealed to Chief Minister Hemant Soren to take action against the officials, so that Jharkhand MLAs may get convenient access. The Jharkhand Bhawan, built in 2024, features modern amenities and includes 50 guest rooms and special suites.
