Police in Dumka, Jharkhand have arrested three individuals implicated in the gang-rape of a young stage performer. The victim was deceived with an invitation to perform at a ‘Dandiya Night,’ after which she was assaulted. The perpetrators threatened her with dire consequences should she disclose the crime. The police have taken the accused into custody and are currently questioning them. The victim, who is a stage performer, lives in a rented house in Deoghar. On September 28, she received a call with an offer to perform at a ‘Dandiya Night.’ Subsequently, three men came to pick her up in a white car and took her to Handi Hasdiha. When she asked about the event, they said they would collect other girls. The men then took her to a house where no event was taking place. When she tried to leave, they locked her in a room and gang-raped her, also making an obscene video. The accused are identified as Saurabh Kumar, Rajan Raj, and Paras Raj Yadav. Police have initiated an investigation after receiving the complaint and arrested the three suspects. The victim is undergoing a medical examination and is scheduled to record her statement in court on Saturday. The investigation is ongoing.
