In a notable administrative shift, Jharkhand’s Raj Bhavan has been renamed ‘Lok Bhavan’. The decision, formalized by Governor’s Additional Chief Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni, took effect on Wednesday. This new designation applies to the Governor’s residences located in both Ranchi and Dumka. The renaming is intended to foster a more democratic and public-oriented image for the Governor’s official establishment. Official clearance from the Union Home Ministry and the state Governor paved the way for this change. Government documents, official communications, and directional signs will be updated to reflect the new name ‘Lok Bhavan’ shortly.
