An atmosphere of fear has gripped Shastrinagar, Kadma police station jurisdiction in East Singhbhum, following the daylight murder of Tauqeer alias Gora. The incident unfolded late Thursday night near the Shastrinagar Road No. 2 mosque. According to eyewitness accounts, two individuals on a motorcycle targeted Tauqeer. After an initial assault with a bladed weapon, they fired several shots at him. Tauqeer succumbed to his injuries and was transported to TMH by concerned citizens, where his death was confirmed. He had sustained injuries from approximately five bullets. Sources indicate Tauqeer was an active member of the ‘Mardana Gang’ and had a history of criminal cases, having recently been released from jail. While a motive of internal gang rivalry is suspected, authorities are investigating all possible angles. Police have recovered empty bullet casings from the crime scene and are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the perpetrators.
