On Tuesday, Sankat Tarini Puja was conducted across different areas of Kharsawan. Significant observances were held at the Gundicha temple, the Mausibari temple in Haribhanja, and other sites. The puja and fast were primarily undertaken by women. They offered 13 varieties of flowers, fruits, and prasad to Maa Tarini. A thread, 13 hands in length, was prepared and used during the puja, and later, the women wore these threads on their wrists. Donations were also made. The prasad was distributed after the prayers. This puja is believed to invoke Maa Tarini, who embodies strength and removes all kinds of difficulties. Consequently, women observe the Tarini Vrat on the first Tuesday following the Rath Yatra. Besides the Gundicha temples, the puja of Maa Sankat Tarini was also performed at various Tarini Peeths. Several worshippers also set up Kalash in their homes and conducted the puja.
