Deepika Singh Pandey, the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister, conducted a review of the rural and Panchayati Raj department’s work plans at Project Bhawan. The focus was on the progress and execution of these plans. The minister highlighted that a strong base for rural development should be established at the Panchayat level. She stressed the need to strengthen this foundation and emphasized making Panchayat secretariats more active and accountable. The minister directed officials to ensure that villagers’ problems are resolved locally so they do not have to travel to the district headquarters. During the meeting, the minister assessed the progress, implementation speed, transparency, and quality of the department’s various schemes. She instructed that all schemes reach the target groups effectively, transparently, and in a timely manner. The minister reiterated the government’s goal to strengthen the Panchayati system to implement village governance and involve every citizen. Discussions covered the status of schemes, review reports, and upcoming work plans. The minister encouraged officials to undertake regular field visits and ensure prompt solutions to problems. Departmental secretary Manoj Kumar and director B. Rajeshwari, along with other senior officials, attended the meeting.
