Educators at PVSV DAV Public School in Jhumritilaiya participated in a vital two-day workshop designed to enhance evaluation and assessment practices. Held on November 8th and 9th, 2025, and supported by the CBSE, Patna Region, the program aimed to familiarize teachers with modern, transparent, and skill-focused assessment methods. This initiative is crucial for making education more meaningful under the National Education Policy 2020.
The workshop officially began with Principal Krishan Kumar Singh initiating the lamp-lighting ceremony. The presence of distinguished resource persons, Chandan Kumar Dubey, Mukesh Kumar Prasad, Mousumi Mallick, and Kumar Satish Singh, added significant value. The atmosphere was made more vibrant by a welcoming performance from the students.
The Principal’s address underscored the significance of adapting to new assessment paradigms, ensuring fairness in evaluations, and the pivotal responsibilities of teachers. The training saw active participation from 58 teachers, representing DAV schools and also including four educators from Jharkhand Public School. Key discussions covered updated CBSE guidelines, principles of effective question design, assessment rubrics, and innovative classroom assessment strategies.
Interactive sessions, including group discussions and Q&A, allowed participants to thoroughly analyze the recent shifts in assessment. The resource persons strongly advocated for assessment frameworks that are student-focused, emphasize practical skills, and are relevant to real-life applications. A concluding peace chant marked the end of the formal proceedings. A vote of thanks was proposed, acknowledging all contributors. The event was skillfully managed, with Principal Krishan Kumar Singh reiterating the workshop’s importance in fostering a more comprehensive, skill-based, and student-centered educational environment, in alignment with NEP 2020.
