Following concerns raised in ‘Prabhat Khabar’ about the condition of the Pahari Mandir, located on Ranchi Hill, the district administration and the Pahari Mandir Development Committee have initiated renovation work. The repairs, which commenced on Monday, include addressing structural issues like rat burrows and refurbishing the sanctum’s floor. Notably, Pahan women are contributing through voluntary service. A team comprising officials from the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), including Director Sudarshan Murmu, along with other experts, inspected the ongoing work. The team reviewed the quality of the repairs and examined damaged parts of the temple and hill. The report in ‘Prabhat Khabar’, which highlighted the temple’s plight, prompted the immediate response. To allow the renovation to proceed, the main temple was temporarily closed, and devotees offered prayers outside. The SDO, Utkarsh Kumar, confirmed that the administration is committed to protecting the temple, with expert consultations being sought to ensure the structural integrity of the site. Pahan women from the Bedo area have expressed their dedication and willingness to serve Lord Shiva.
