The Palamu unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has made a swift arrest in Chainpur, apprehending a senior clerk for accepting a bribe. Identified as Vinod Kumar, the ‘Bada Babu’ of the Chainpur Anchal office, he was apprehended on Thursday while receiving 5,500 rupees in bribe money. Sources indicate the bribe was demanded from an individual seeking official copies of documents. A complaint was filed with the ACB, prompting an investigation that confirmed the alleged corrupt practice. ACB officials then orchestrated a sting operation, successfully catching Kumar in the act of accepting the bribe. This decisive action underscores the ACB’s commitment to transparency and accountability.
