Two extremists from the outlawed PLFI were arrested by the police in Lohardaga. The Kuru police station made the arrests as the militants arrived to collect extortion money. The Superintendent of Police, Lohardaga, revealed that the PLFI had been pressuring a contractor building a culvert in Lawagai to pay a levy. The contractor received threats of death and destruction if they failed to comply. Earlier, attempts were made to set fire to construction vehicles, and posters were distributed claiming responsibility in the name of PLFI. The Lohardaga police laid a trap, and the naxalites were caught while receiving 30,000 rupees. Nikhil Munda alias Pintoo and Sunil Sanga, both from Ghaghra village in the Khunti district, have been identified as the arrested individuals. The Lohardaga police are currently working to apprehend the mastermind and other members of the PLFI.
