Pregnant Woman Ends Life in Koderma

In a tragic incident, a nine-month pregnant woman committed suicide by hanging herself in the Devi Mandap Road area, under the Tiliya police station jurisdiction in Koderma. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Shivani Kumari, wife of Sonu Kumar. The event occurred on Saturday evening. A neighbor, Sapan Kumar, said that he heard sounds of crying emanating from Shivani’s home and went to check. He found Shivani’s body on a bed inside the house. Her sister revealed that Shivani had taken her own life by hanging herself. The victim was expecting to give birth this month and her sister had come to assist with the delivery. The husband and sister had an argument earlier in the afternoon. Following the disagreement, the husband went to a different room and Shivani went to another. Later, the husband was woken up by his children’s cries, and upon checking his wife’s room, found her hanging from the ceiling fan. The body was subsequently brought to Sadar Hospital Koderma. The deceased leaves behind two children and her husband, who is a fruit seller. The couple resided in a rented house. Police arrived at the scene and began an investigation. The body has been sent to Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
