To prevent train accidents and protect elephants, the railway is implementing an Intrusion Detection System (IDS) on the Dhanbad-Gaya Grand Chord section. The system will utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify elephants near the tracks, sending alerts to the control room and loco pilots. The project includes laying Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) underground and installing sensors. The system will be operational on the Chichaki-Hazaribag Road and Keswari-Chaube sections, covering both up and down lines for approximately 40 kilometers. The centralized monitoring will be done from Dhanbad, with Hazaribag also having control access. The tender process is underway, with an estimated completion time of six months after awarding the contract. The project is estimated at ₹4.83 crore.
