The Durga Puja pandal in Ranchi presents a unique political theme, drawing large crowds. The pandal showcases various political figures through idols. Among these are Rahul Gandhi, Lalu Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and their mothers. The organizers aim to communicate a message to the public. A display also honors Hemant Soren and his mother, highlighting the theme of a mother giving birth to a heroic son. One of the displays shows an image of Tej Pratap Yadav with his mother Rabri Devi and a poster portraying Rabri Devi hitting Tej Pratap, a reference to recent controversies that resulted in Tej Pratap’s removal from the RJD party. The pandal also includes idols of other deities, with a statue of RJD supremo Lalu Yadav and his mother, Marachiya Devi. A poster nearby declares that Mother Marachiya Devi gave birth to a brave son like Lalu Yadav. Tejashwi Yadav’s idol is also displayed, with a poster proclaiming him as the next Chief Minister of Bihar. Through these representations, the pandal seeks to reflect the political landscape of Bihar and the nation.
