Ranchi is preparing to host the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath on June 27. Lord Jagannath, accompanied by his siblings, will travel on a chariot to Mausi Badi. The Jagannathpur Temple Committee and the district administration are working diligently on the preparations. The fair associated with the Rath Yatra is also taking shape, with swings and stalls being erected for the nine-day event. The Rath Yatra traditionally begins on the Dwitiya Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashadha and concludes on Ekadashi Tithi. Thousands participate in pulling the chariot of Lord Jagannath over the ten-day period. Devotees also visit the fair, enjoy the festivities, and buy goods. The Jagannath fair will culminate on July 6th, coinciding with Devshayani Ekadashi. The final day of the Yatra is known as Ghurti Rath Yatra.
