In Ranchi, Jharkhand, a husband and wife have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a significant jewelry theft case. The suspects, Kavita Sharma, a CMPDIL employee, and her husband, Vikas Bahadur, were apprehended by the police. The authorities have recovered gold and diamond jewelry valued at approximately 26 lakh rupees from the couple. The theft took place on May 7th at the residence of Rani Kumari, an employee of CMPDIL, near Kanke Road. The stolen items were estimated to be worth around 30 lakhs. After the incident, Rani Kumari reported the theft to the Gonda police station. The police, under the direction of the Ranchi SSP, formed a special investigation team. The investigation revealed that Kavita Sharma, a neighbor and fellow CMPDIL employee, was the prime suspect. She had allegedly sent the stolen jewelry to an associate in Hyderabad and then used the jewelry to secure a loan of 5.43 lakhs from Muthoot Finance. The police are actively pursuing other individuals believed to be involved in the crime.
