A high-impact police campaign rocked Ranchi on Sunday, busting an extensive prostitution syndicate active in multiple neighborhoods. Forces arrested eight persons—five females and three males—in a series of targeted interventions.
SSP Rakesh Ranjan’s vigilance uncovered the racket’s footprint in Lalpur, Chutia, and other spots. It exploited dozens of women, sequestered in rented spaces and motels for unlawful services.
City SP Paras Rana’s specialized team conducted parallel assaults on suspected sites, securing the arrests including the woman heading the operation and visiting clients.
Detainees include Ranchi natives and Kolkata residents among the women. The chief accused, with a documented criminal past involving jail time, trafficked females from West Bengal into Ranchi’s underworld.
Police continue rigorous questioning to map out the full conspiracy. This operation highlights proactive policing against organized vice, promising continued crackdowns to safeguard women and uphold public order.
