A young man identified as Sahil was murdered in broad daylight at Bhatti Chowk in the Hindpiri police station area of Ranchi. The incident triggered immediate outrage among the local residents, leading to violent protests. The mob attacked the house and office of former councilor Mo. Aslam, vandalizing property and setting it ablaze. Vehicles parked outside the former councilor’s house, including a car and motorcycles, were also damaged. The protestors also vandalized the office. Angry residents alleged that Sahil, also known as Kurkure, was murdered by Asif, the brother of the former councilor Aslam, and his close associate Arman. The murder is believed to be the result of a long-standing feud.
