A press conference held at Congress Bhavan revealed the party’s deep concerns over the current state of the Right to Information (RTI) Act. Pradesh Congress President Keshav Mahto Kamlesh highlighted that the historic RTI Act, enacted in 2005 under the UPA government, aimed to ensure transparency and accountability by providing citizens access to information held by public authorities. He asserted that amendments made by the central government in 2019 have diluted this vital law, increasing executive influence.
